L'Epicerie is a delightful find in Alcúdia, situated on the main Carretera d'Artà, conveniently Near Beach access and hotels. This Family Run business, established in 2019, successfully blends a French Bakery, Specialty Coffee shop, and a purveyor of Local Produce into one inviting space.
The entrance, adorned with colourful local goods, signals the high quality found within. Despite being described as a "grocery store with a caffeinated twist," it offers a bustling yet welcoming atmosphere with outdoor seating available, attracting a steady stream of customers.
Coffee Selection
Coffee aficionados will appreciate the focus on Specialty Coffee, prepared on a La Marzocco machine. Their house Espresso features Colombian Coffee beans, washed process from 1700-1800m, roasted weekly in Mallorca by Bay Coffee Roasters. This medium-dark roast offers caramel notes and a full body.
Beans are also available for purchase, alongside selections from renowned roasters like Hola Coffee (Madrid) and Right Side Coffee (Barcelona). The menu includes a full range of espresso drinks and Iced Coffee options, with Oat Milk available. Matcha and Chai Lattes are also served.
Food & Drinks
The French Bakery aspect shines with excellent Croissants (plain, ham & cheese), pain au chocolat, and potentially eclairs and tartelettes. Their croissants have been lauded as potentially the best outside France. Fresh Sourdough Bread, made daily with ecological French flour, is another highlight. A wide array of Cakes (Almond, Carrot, Cheesecake, Banana Bread etc.) tempts alongside pastries.
