Montuïri is the Pla town you see from the motorway — a ridge lined with old windmills, with the Ermita de Sant Miquel on its own hill just outside and the talayotic site of Son Fornés in the fields below.
The 2 km ramp to the ermita is a sharp little test in otherwise flat country; from the top the lanes to Porreres, Sant Joan, Lloret and Algaida fan out across the Pla. Montuïri is about 44 minutes (54 km) from our shop in Paguera.

From Montuïri ride west through Algaida to Randa, where the Puig de Randa climb (4.4 km, 236 m) — 8 km from the village — winds up to the Cura monastery and one of the widest views on the island. Return via Porreres on quiet lanes lined with almond trees — about 48 km. Montuïri's own Puig de Sant Miquel chapel makes a short final kick.
