Ride Mallorca: Routes, Climbs & Seasons
Planning to ride Mallorca? Good call — no other island in Europe packs this much cycling into so little space: over 1,200 km of smooth, quiet roads, the legendary Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, flat plains for recovery days and a season that never really ends. This guide covers where to ride, which climbs to tick off and when to come — from our home base in Paguera, in the island’s southwest.
Why Ride Mallorca?
Mallorca is the winter and spring training home of the pro peloton for a reason. The tarmac is exceptional, drivers are used to cyclists, café stops are everywhere, and within one ride you can combine coastal roads, olive groves and 14 km mountain passes. Whether you ride 40 km or 200 km a day, the island scales with you.
Where to Ride: Routes and Climbs
The fastest way to plan your days is our loop routes collection — ready-made rides starting from Paguera and the southwest, from a relaxed 39 km coastal spin to the 167 km around-the-island epic. Every route has an elevation profile, live weather with wind direction, photos and a Komoot link, and our filters estimate your ride time from your average speed.
Climbers should head straight to our climbs database : 46 documented ascents with gradients, photos and videos — from famous giants like Sa Calobra and Puig Major to quiet local cols above Galilea and Puigpunyent that most visitors never find.
When to Ride: The Cycling Seasons
Spring (February–May) is peak season — mild temperatures, green landscapes and the Mallorca 312 buzz. Autumn (September–November) is its quieter twin: warm sea, empty climbs and stable weather. Summer works with early starts — roll out at 7:30, climb before the heat, be at the beach by two. Winter stays rideable almost every day, which is why the pros are here in January.
