How to Calculate Your Frame Size
The most reliable shortcut uses your inseam length (inner leg, floor to crotch, measured without shoes): multiply it by 0.665 to get your road bike frame size in centimetres. Example: an 82 cm inseam × 0.665 ≈ a 54–55 cm frame. Your ideal saddle height is roughly inseam × 0.883, measured from the centre of the bottom bracket to the top of the saddle.
Between two sizes? Riders who value agility and a sportier position usually take the smaller frame; riders who prioritise comfort on long days take the larger one. Reach can always be fine-tuned with the stem — frame size cannot.
When you rent with Doctor Bicycles, you don’t have to worry about any of this alone: tell us your height, weight and saddle height during booking, and every bike is professionally set to your measurements before we hand it over — at the shop or at your hotel door.
Please note: These sizes are general recommendations. For optimal fit and performance, a professional bike fitting is highly recommended.
