The ascent averages a steady 7% gradient on mostly excellent, albeit narrow, tarmac. Wind through 26 hairpin bends, past dramatic cliffs and rock formations, with breathtaking sea views. Marvel at the famous 270° spiral bridge (Nus de Sa Corbata) near the summit. Be aware of heavy traffic, especially tourist coaches – an early start is highly recommended.
